Aluminum fluoride

Aluminum fluoride is an inorganic substance, chemical formula AlF₃, colorless or white crystal. Insoluble in water, insoluble in acids and bases. The property is very stable and can be hydrolyzed under heating. Mainly used for aluminum smelting. It can be prepared by the action of aluminum trichloride with hydrofluoric acid and ammonia.
